Pavilion

The pavilion was originally a timber-frame barn, built in the 1840s on a farm about 30 miles from the park. In June 1998, under the direction of the Timber Framers Guild of North America, the barn was dismantled at the farm, brought to Salt Springs, and reassembled during a barn raising. Thanks to a lot of sweat equity — both human and animal (see below) — park visitors have a unique place to hold special events.

The pavilion is a 40’ x 30’ timber-frame barn located near the camping area. It is available for day rental from 8:00 A.M. to dusk. Cost of a reservation is $75 (effective January 1, 2009), payable in advance. The group agrees to leave the pavilion clean and neat.

Reservations

Reservations are required. Click here for the Pavilion Reservation form, or call the Park Office at (570) 967-7275 to tentatively schedule a reservation date. Leave your name, phone number, and the reason for your call. Someone will get back to you shortly.

Once your date has been cleared with office personnel, you will need to send your rental fee, along with the reservation form, to the park.

Reservations are not confirmed until payment is received. Upon receipt of your check, you will be contacted and your reservation confirmed.

Parking

Parking space is very limited (that is, two or three cars). Parking is absolutely prohibited on the grass. Please instruct your guests to park in the public parking lots and walk to the pavilion. Those people not able to walk the distance can be dropped off and picked up at the pavilion.

Refund Policy

Cancellations received one week in advance of the reservation date: refund provided minus a $10 cancellation fee for administrative costs. Cancellations received less than one week before the reservation date: no refund.

Drinking Water

Drinking water is available outside at the Wheaton House; the faucet is located on the side facing the parking lot. Note that the water is "well water," with a sulfurous taste. Some people prefer to bring their own water.
